What is Coaching?
Coaching isn’t therapy, mentoring, or advice-giving. Professional coaching is a dynamic process that gives you the tools, guidance and support you need to create the life you truly want.

How does coaching work?
You and your coach are partners. Unlike counseling and consulting, you will work together as equals to achieve goals with your coach. Coaching addresses specific personal and business goals and successes, general conditions and transitions in your personal life, relationships or profession by dissecting what is going on in their life currently, uncovering what the obstacles or challenges might be, and choosing a course of action to make your life the way you want it to be.
Coaching is NOT about ‘fixing’ you, it’s about helping you focus and follow through.

Coaching helps you gain clarity in your life. It will help you come up with an action plan that will help you create measurable results..

How does coaching differ from counseling?
Coaching is a less formal partnership between two equals rather than a relationship between a teacher and a student. Coaching has a big focus on the future, looking ahead, building a vision to work toward, and then working toward it. Counseling deals with the past and past experiences as a way to a healthy future.

What does a typical coaching session look like?
The coaching process consists of a series of one-on-one sessions over time that supports you through individual professional or personal growth. It’s fun, enjoyable and beneficial. It is structured but it has some flexibility. As the client you will discover and clarify what you want, explore opportunities and possibilities, create action plans and implement measurable steps that best suit your needs and desires as well as celebrate the accomplishments of the goals both big and small. 

Why hire a coach?
You hire a coach because you are ready to move forward in your life. You may have a specific goal either personally or professionally that you want to achieve. You may even need help finding out what your goals are.

What do you talk about with a coach?
You and your coach will set some initial goals and your coach will set up guidelines that help you overcome obstacles, move past barriers, clarify your vision, develop your personal strengths and stay accountable for moving forward. The sessions are fluid and address your life process.

How long does someone work with a coach?
Usually a 12 week commitment because that’s how much time we need to achieve measurable results and establish some new patterns. But time varies based on the client’s needs. Some clients require more time and sign up to 12 month agreements, some less.

Who is an ‘ideal’ client?
If you are aware of the fact that where you are is not where you want to be, you are an ideal client.
If you want personal and/or professional growth and honest feedback, you are an ideal client.

What is expected of the client from the coach?
A coach expects the client to be on time, complete all assignments/commitments, and be honest and prepared for each session.
